Balance offers an array of accounting services. From preparation of individual taxation returns, to planning and completing company financial statements, Balance aims to support each individual regardless of their accounting needs. Balance also offers company secretarial and audit services to individuals, small business and self-managed superannuation funds. We offer a service that aligns with standards of the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), and Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC).

 The development of a working relationship with clients commences with a discussion and a review of information and any requirements. The terms of agreement sets out the obligations of both parties in working together to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome. We endeavour to do so within budget and within a timely manner. Our work is concluded with a review and a sign-off to acknowledge satisfaction of the work done.

 
  • Christopher Falkingham

    FCA FCPA Managing Partner

    Christopher Falkingham is the director and managing partner of Balance Corporation Pty Ltd. Christopher first began his accounting career in 1973. He became an accountant as he had an interest in data analytics and enjoyed the fact that numbers and figures are not ambiguous; and nearly 50 years later, his passion and reasoning to join the industry has not changed.

    Christopher completed his CA in 1977. After gaining his Public Practice Certificate, he established the firm in 1982. He first opened in Braeside, Victoria and has continued to operate in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Christopher was nominated to become Fellow of the Charted Accountant Body in 1991, which recognised his outstanding contributions and professional achievements.

    With over 45 years of experience in the accounting industry, Christopher places a high importance on developing a professional partnership with each client. He values taking the time to listen and engage with the firm’s client base. He has passed this value system onto each staff member of the firm.

  • Michael McClaren

    CPA Partner

    Michael has over 20 years of experience in the accounting profession. He joined the firm after graduating in 1998 and completed his CPA in 2002. Soon after, he became a partner of the firm once he obtained his Public Practice Certificate in 2003.

    During this time, Michael has been able to engage and develop long-standing relationships with all our clients. He assists clients by providing advice across a range of areas including, accounting, tax advice, tax planning and business advice.

    Michael is passionate about helping individuals, sole-traders and businesses and enjoys assisting them to succeed and achieve their short and long-term objectives. All our clients appreciate his calm and down to earth nature, as it puts them instantly at ease.

  • David Boterenbrood

    Graduate Accountant

    David is a Graduate Accountant who works full-time within the firm. He began as an intern in early 2019, and has been mentored by both Christopher and Michael. He executes a standard of work, which is high quality and well regard by both partners of the firm.

    David successfully completed a Bachelor of Business degree with a high distinction average in June 2021; majoring in accounting and minoring in economics and human resource management. David has since received Dean’s Honours for completing his degree within the top two percentile of graduates. Under the mentorship of Christopher, David is expecting to upskill and gain accreditation from the Chartered Accounting Program.

  • Linda Masocco

    Receptionist/Administration

    Linda is the Office Administration Manager. With a history of working in a number of different administration and secretarial roles within both accounting and law firms. She has worked with Balance Corporation since 2000 and has held multiple administration roles within the firm.

    Linda has a warm and welcoming nature, which is valued by many of our new and long-standing clients.

  • Keally Nankervis

    Administration

    Keally has a professional background within recruitment, customer service, office management, marketing and design, which she gained from her roles in both Melbourne and overseas. Keally relocated to Melbourne from the United States full time in 2014.

    She is working part time managing the incoming and outgoing of job tasks within the office.
